A BAS is a form submitted to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) by businesses to report and pay for tax obligations. This most commonly includes Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Pay As You Go (PAYG) withholding.

Any business registered for GST must lodge a BAS. You are required to register for GST if your business has a GST turnover of $75,000 or more ($150,000 for non-profits).

This depends on your business turnover. Most small businesses lodge quarterly. Businesses with a turnover of $20 million or more must lodge monthly. Some smaller businesses may be eligible to report annually.
